BraceSense Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how BraceSense handles information when you use the BraceSense mobile application.
BraceSense is designed as a local-first companion app for BraceSense-compatible wearable brace sensors. It connects to a sensor by Bluetooth, records brace wearing information, and generates reports on your device. BraceSense does not require an account and does not use a backend server in the current version.
1. Information We Collect
BraceSense does not collect personal account information. The app does not require registration, login, name, phone number, email address, or password.
The app may process the following information locally on your device:
- Bluetooth sensor name and sensor identifier, such as the last four characters of the sensor name.
- Sensor wearing information read from the connected brace sensor.
- Sensor movement or posture-related information read from the connected brace sensor.
- Generated report images.
- Local report history created by the user.
2. How We Use Information
BraceSense uses sensor data only to:
- Connect to the brace sensor.
- Read current sensor data.
- Generate a 28-day local report.
- Save the generated report to the device photo library if the user chooses to do so.
- Share the generated report if the user chooses to use the system share function.
3. Local Storage
BraceSense stores sensor data and report history locally on your device.
The current version of BraceSense does not upload sensor data to a server. The app does not provide cloud synchronization.
When the user clears a sensor through the app, BraceSense attempts to clear data stored on the sensor and also removes the corresponding local data for that sensor from the app.
4. Bluetooth Permission
BraceSense uses Bluetooth permission to search for, connect to, and communicate with BraceSense-compatible wearable brace sensors.
Bluetooth is required for the core function of the app. Without Bluetooth permission, BraceSense cannot connect to the sensor or collect sensor data.
5. Photo Library Permission
BraceSense may request photo library or media permission when the user chooses to save a generated report image to the device photo library.
BraceSense uses this permission only to save report images selected by the user. The app does not read, scan, upload, or analyze the user’s photo library.
6. Sharing Reports
BraceSense allows the user to share generated report images through the device’s system share function.
When the user shares a report, the selected third-party app or service is responsible for its own privacy practices. BraceSense does not control how third-party apps handle shared files.
7. Website Link
BraceSense includes a link to https://bracesense.com/.
Opening this link will launch the user’s browser or another external application. The website may have its own privacy policy.
8. Data Transmission
The current version of BraceSense does not transmit sensor data to BraceSense servers because no backend server is used.
Data may leave the device only when the user explicitly chooses to share or export a report through system functions, such as sharing a report image with another app.
9. Children’s Privacy
BraceSense is not designed as a child-directed app. If the app is used by or for a minor, it should be used under the supervision of a parent, guardian, or responsible adult.
BraceSense does not knowingly collect online personal information from children.
10. Data Security
BraceSense uses device-local storage for sensor records and report history. Users should protect access to their device using device-level security such as passcodes, biometric authentication, and operating system security updates.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. If the app later adds account features, cloud storage, backend services, or other data transmission features, this Privacy Policy should be updated before those features are released.
